Sculptra Injections

Sculptra Injections help treat an underlying cause of facial aging—the loss of collagen. Sculptra is the only FDA-approved PLLA (poly-L-lactic acid) facial injectable treatment that helps stimulate the skin’s own natural collagen production. It works gradually to add volume that lifts the soft tissues and plumps skin from within. This helps restore your skin’s inner structure to smooth facial wrinkles, such as smile lines, for a more youthful-looking appearance.

Frequently Asked Cosmetic Injection Questions
What is Botox/Dysport?

Botox and Dysport are both types of botulinum neurotoxins that block the nerve receptors in the muscles to help prevent lines and wrinkles from forming. Neurotoxin injections remain one of the top cosmetic treatment options for prevention and correction of those unwanted fine lines and wrinkles that occur from everyday facial movement and expression.

What is the difference between Botox/Dysport and a filler?
Botox and Dysport are a form of neurotoxin that helps to relax facial muscles to prevent and soften fine lines and wrinkles. Filler is an injectable hyaluronic acid that restores lost volume.
When can I expect to see results and how long do they last?
With neurotoxins, you can expect to see results between 3 and 7 days with a full effect at 2 weeks. The longevity of these products can vary for each client but on average neurotoxins can last up to 3-5 months. Fillers results are instant and can last up to 1 year.
What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biodegradable substance
that has been proven safe and has been used in medical products, including dissolvable sutures, for more than 30 years.

How does Sculptra work?

Once injected Sculptra begins working with your body deep within the skin to help stimulate your skin’s own natural collagen production over time, helping to reinforce the skin’s inner structure and increase facial fullness that
has been lost due to aging.

How many Sculptra treatments will I need?

On average, a series of 3 treatment sessions over the course of a few months may be needed. The number of injections at each session will vary depending on the degree of correction needed and the treatment plan determined by you and your specialist.

What should I expect from my Sculptra treatment?

• Stimulates your own natural collagen growth
• Helps restore lost facial volume and provides support to the skin to improve the look of smile lines (nasolabial folds), marionette lines, preauricular wrinkles (the vertical wrinkles in front of the ears), radial cheek folds (vertical wrinkles below the cheek), and chin wrinkles
• Provides gradual and natural–looking results that become visible over
a few months
• Long-lasting—lasts up to 2 years

Is there any downtime after my procedure?
We recommend no exercise for 24-48 hours. You can expect bruising and swelling both of which will subside within 5-7 days time. After a neurotoxin, we recommend that you remain upright for at least 4 hours after your treatment to avoid neurotoxin migration.
What can I do to prevent bruising?
At least 24-48 hours prior to and after injections, avoid consuming alcohol, tumeric, garlic, vitamin E, and NSAIDS. Inform your provider if you are on any anticoagulation therapy, blood thinners such as aspirin, or suffer from excessive bleeding or clotting disorder.
